Nice getaway with all you need. We enjoyed the fireplace. We loved the neighborhod dog visiting us each morning too - Katie was so sweet and will play fetch until your arm wears out. A really nice experience, great communication, and a greatbargain.

PRO's: outdoor and indoor fireplaces were great. Furniture and beds were comfortable. Kitchen was nicely equipped and great room for food storage.
CON's: Dining room subfloor is failing and sinking in several locations. Tankless / On-demand water heater is located in laundry room and can be heard throughout the house. Construction has just begun on adjacent property (7:00AM starts) and is expected to go on through the summer.

We will also have the on-demand water heater checked. As for construction in the area, we cannot control what happens at an adjacent property. Most of the time, construction starts around 7 or 8 am and concludes by 5pm on weekdays. We do hope you will stay with us again soon.

It was nice to have a one level home with 2 senior couples sharing a weekend away. Had good internet service and was able to enjoy a movie during the rain. there is a dip going from the living room to the dining room but was overall a nice home to visit.

Nice stay at Cabin Fever

Overall we were pleased staying here. This was our second visit to Cabin Fever. The only complaint was that it was quite dusty. On our first stay it was the same. This time we reported it to the office. Kitchen and bathrooms were clean but the furniture, floors, corners and molding were dusty and you could tell it had not been recently cleaned. Besides the dust we liked our stay! We had perfect weather!

Great Vacation Rental Option

Due to a cancellation else where, we needed to rental for our Christmas trip to NC. We were planning to do some skiing at Appalachian Mountain, so we didn't want to be too far. Rentals (and even hotels) in the usual locations Boone, Beech mountain area, etc.... were all booked. This place in West Jefferson was a great find. An easy 35 minute drive to Appalachian Mountain and Boone and Blowing Rock... and West Jeffereson itself was very nice.
The cabin itself was fantastic. Seemed brand new. All appliances perfect. Stocked with any pans/dishes you might need. Gas fireplace inside. Beautiful outside fireplace... though we didn't get a chance to use it. The decor of the cabin was everything you might expect in a mountain cabin. Again everything in excellent/like new condition.
And again, the location turned out to be great... We could get on the Blue Ridge Parkway in only 10 minutes!!!
The only thing that might make this place better is a hot tub... but I doubt we would have had time to use it anyway.

Wonderful girls’ getaway

We had five women stay in Cabin Fever for a bachelorette weekend. We thoroughly enjoyed our time! We had planned to stay in all weekend so the fact we weren’t near restaurants or shops didn’t bother us. The house was very comfortable, updated and clean. The deck and outdoor fireplace were perfect for cool nights and mornings. We cooked all of our meals and while the kitchen is nice and well laid out, it isn’t as well equipped as I’m used to with other rentals. There were plenty of dishes, pots and pans, but there weren’t a lot of tools like measuring spoons and cups, a whisk, etc. Overall though it was a great house! We would stay again. You will definitely need AWD in the winter. I had to use lower gears to reach the house in May.

Weekend Getaway for 2 Adults and 2 Small Dogs

Cabin Fever is a small cabin with lots of personality. The Cabin has Modern Appliances and Furniture. The Kitchen has all the utensils, Pots, Pans, Dishes, etc that you need to prepare a family meal. Cabin Fever is approximately 10 minutes from West Jefferson. If you don't want to cook, there are lots of great restaurants in the area. The cabin has Wifi, Dish TV, and we had great Cell Service.
We have been spending our Vacations for the past few years in West Jefferson and staying in vacation rentals managed by Carolina Mountain Properties. We highly recommend Carolina Mountain Properties. The rentals we have stayed in have always been clean. We have no complaints with them.

For the most part it was good, lots of spider webs and I realize that happens but sometimes falls back on housekeeping, food on floor from previous renters, falls on housekeeping as well. I love this realty company, stayed there for years. All in all would stay there again.

The cabin was immaculate. Furniture was in very good condition. Decorated appropriately. Extremely well stocked with kitchen items etc. Beautiful outdoor fireplace and large deck. The only negative was the lack of a view. The picture on the website showed views. Apparently, the picture is older, and trees have grown blocking most of the view. On the deck if you looked to the left, you could see a small view.

We really enjoyed our stay at this cabin. The cabin was clean a cozy. The location is close enough to easily enjoy West Jefferson and we spent our week fishing all of the delayed harvest areas Ashe County has to offer.
