Carolina Pines is a modern mountain home with all the thoughtful touches you are looking for in a relaxing getaway, all on one level. From the moment you turn off Hwy 16 in Jefferson, the winding mountain road will take you through a working tree farm to your vacation rental that is nestled on a hillside overlooking it. Gorgeous views abound from both the front and back of “Carolina Pines.”
As soon as you step up on the front porch you are welcomed with comfortable wicker porch furniture for relaxing or enjoying a glass of wine while enjoying the views. Inside, the open layout of the living, dining and kitchen area offers plenty of space for watching tv, cooking or just spending time together.
Curl up in the cozy living area with the gas logs and enjoy a good movie on the smart TV. There’s WiFi available for those that wish to work a little or plan an adventure out during your stay.
The kitchen offers stainless appliances including a dishwasher for easy clean-up. There’s another small refrigerator for water, drinks and snacks for the kids that is built into the island. And everyone will want to cook in this kitchen since you aren’t separated from the group. You can even keep up with the movie on the TV while cooking!
The dining table offers seating for six and is located just off the kitchen area.
Down the hall, you will find two bedrooms that share a hall bath. The first bedroom offers a comfy queen bed and nightstands with lamps for those that like to read a little before drifting off to dreamland. The hall bath offers a vanity with spacious countertops and a shower/tub combo. Another bedroom offers two twin beds, great for kids or single adults.
An elegant master suite is found at the end of the hallway complete with comfy king bed, flat screen TV, and even USB charge port outlets. After a restful night’s sleep, you’ll love being able to wake up, make your own cup of coffee in your private suite and step out onto your own back porch area with seating where you can enjoy the sounds of nature. The master bath features double vanities, soaking tub, and step-in shower.
A spacious laundry area can be accessed either from the master bathroom or the kitchen.
Step out in the backyard and discover a fire pit complete with wooden benches for roasting hot dogs or making s’mores with the family on those cool Carolina Mountain evenings.
If you wish to venture out, the property is in close proximity to several landmarks in the area. The North Fork of the New River and Gale Winston's famous River House Gourmet Restaurant are only a couple of miles away. The confluence of the North and South Forks of the New River is about 6 miles away. Shatley Springs Restaurant is 10 miles away, and the Mount Rogers National Recreation Area is about 15 miles away via Highway 16N and VA Highway 58.

Huge rental in new like condition and amazingly clean

We very much enjoyed the location and spacious home situated in the middle of a Christmas tree farm in the hills of North Carolina. less than a mile from the Virginia border and an hour east of tennessee. Perfect for an hour drive to Damascus (Creeper trail bike ride), To Mt. Airy (Mayberry Tour), Stone Mountain, Pilot Mtn, Boone and Blowing Rock for lots of food and fun. Only downside was the 2 cars in the garage, where we had hoped to store our bikes and the low amount of hot water available for showers and the large tub. Nice country store nearby the property for snacks and souvenirs

This property was so pretty! Everything was very clean, they were quick to help us find a house when we couldn’t make it up the mountain to our originally booked cabin, and were quick to answer any questions we had! We had a wonderful Christmas there and will definitely be back!

Comfy cottage on backcountry roads with rolling hills

The house was a great location for our two adventures - a hike at Grayson Highlands and a bike along the Virginia Creeper Trail. It's otherwise not near much, which is kind of the point. My kid had a tough time sleeping on the sheets, they wouldn't stay put. This was true for all the beds in fact. Otherwise, the house and amenities were comfortable.

The home was very spacious with open floor plan. The home was clean and the beds were comfortable. The only thing it lacked compared to home was sufficient pots and pans...
other wise this was as described and I will definitely consider for vacation next year!
