Had a great stay; a few things could have made it better

Dream Mountain Lodge worked well for our adult party of 6, and Carolina Mtn Vacation Rentals was great to work with - very friendly and responsive. I knew the location was well north of town, so the ~25 minute drive to West Jefferson was not unexpected. And while we'd stay there again, there were three things that were noteworthy...
The pictures show a gas grill, but there is no gas grill, only a small camp-style charcoal grill. I was planning on grilling corn for 8, but that became impossible.
The listing says it sleeps 13, but the kitchen supplies don't match that. It would have helped to have more settings, silverware, and glasses, and some kitchen basics like baking pans, ice cream scoop, and the like. We managed OK, but with some effort.
It would also be helpful if the doors closed and latched quietly. I can only speak for the doors in the basement, but if this were my home I'd replace the hinges and plane the doors.
I don't want this review to sound too negative, because we DID enjoy our visit. If these three things are addressed it will be perfect.

My group of 8 had a wonderful stay at the cabin. We loved the beautiful remote location, surrounded by farms and mountains, the scenic drive of the new river on the way in was beautiful. We were worried about some of the reviews for the cabin saying it wasn’t very clean, we didn’t experience that at all. It was a great deal for us and we had a great stay. 45 min drive to Grayson highlands, and the view from the deck

The mountain house was very beautiful. Everyone who attended this weekend absolutely loved the place. The hot tub was a big hit for all. The rental property staff was also amazing! The only downfall was all of the stinkbugs and ladybugs throughout the mountain house, but I do however know that is typical. Just a fair warning for some people who might not like bugs that much.

The was Beautiful and spacious. Very clean with Gorgeous views. All of the beds slept so comfortably! The only drawback was the scary one lane road into the cabin. Other than that, we loved the property.

Our stay was lovely, and this was truly an amazing mountain getaway to stay at. All rooms were immaculate and very comfortable. Temperature control was perfect. We cooked dinner and breakfast without issue in the sizable kitchen. Kids played pool and ping pong more than I would have imagined and also enjoyed the hot tub. Great place! Recommend without reservation.

Dream Mountain lodge is a wonderful place to stay! The house had enough room to spread out and plenty of things for the family to do. We used the pool table, ping pong table, and hot tub every evening. The kitchen is well equipped and there were plenty of towels. The reservation staff was excellent! They answered all my questions and were very accommodating with check in. Plus the location was close to Boone which is a fun town to visit. We also enjoyed tubing down the river (so much we went twice).

I will definitely come back to this house! Amazing deck, loved the kitchen dinning area. Our group spent so much time on the deck, kitchen and large table. We played games each night, made so many memories! We laughed until it hurt. We had a group of 12 adults, plenty of room. With Covid we knew we wanted to stay at the house and this was the house! We hiked, took walks and enjoyed the company! You know your having a great time when it was time to leave and we were sad! Thank You to the homeowners for putting your place out there during this time of COVID-19. The house was truly clean, safe and beds were so comfortable!!! Great Job ����

The house was perfect and just as described. Clean, spacious and well appointed. We had plenty of room for our two families to spread out. Beds were comfortable. The weather was rainy and foggy so we weren’t able to do ads much outdoors so extra thankful for the nice home to play games and spend time together.
