Description
Above The Clouds is located at 4700 feet above sea level and offers a stunningly beautiful 180-degree mountain view atop the prestigious Crown Pointe, offering paved road access. This charming log cabin offers three bedrooms and two baths, and is tastefully furnished with all the comforts of home and more!
From the moment you step out of your vehicle, the awe-inspiring view is sure to take your breath. From the front porch you’ll find comfy outdoor furniture to relax in and enjoy a morning cup of coffee or evening glass of wine as you enjoy the view. Inside this nicely furnished log home the main level features a welcoming living area with a gas stone fireplace and comfy leather furniture. There’s a large flat-screen TV for watching sports or movies and WIFI is available for those that need to stay in touch with work or just catch up on emails.
The well-equipped kitchen and dining area is open to the living area and offers plenty of cabinetry and counter space for preparing family meals or a quick snack. There are also double French doors that lead out to the screened-in back porch - Great for outdoor dining or just relaxing while reading a good book!
Also, on the main level you will find two spacious bedrooms, one with a comfy queen bed and another with 2 sets of bunk beds (4 twins) that share a hall bath. One of these bedrooms offers direct access to the screened-in porch as well.
Upstairs, you will find a spacious master suite with king size bed and large flat screen tv. The spacious bath features a whirlpool tub for your relaxation enjoyment and a separate shower.
The spacious loft area offers a futon for additional sleeping space and another TV.
The spacious deck area offers a bubbling hot tub with gorgeous long range mountains. You are sure to want to relax here!
Above The Clouds is located just 8 miles from downtown West Jefferson and 22 miles from Boone, it is convenient to activities such as skiing, rafting, tubing, hiking and biking. For some winter fun, head to one of our three most popular ski resorts: Appalachian Ski Mtn, Sugar Mtn, or Beech Mtn.
NOTE: there are exterior security cameras pointed at the driveway for your safety.

The house is amazing itself, but you don't even have to step inside before it starts showing off. The view off the porch is INCREDIBLE. You get the sunset literally in your face.... you can even watch the sunset FROM THE HOT TUB. If you're looking for a place to get away, to hear no traffic or people, the have some serious rest and relaxation, this needs to be your top choice. Super clean, comfy beds, plentiful kitchenware, huge TVs, and an extensive game cabinet.

Overall good but cleanliness issues

Overall we really enjoyed the cabin. It came as described and had everything we needed. The sheets need to be replaced as they are pilling and therefore itchy and uncomfortable. The hot tub had visible guck that needs to be cleaned. There was hair on the walls of the shower so it was clear the shower had not been cleaned. Most of all the dishes were disgusting. Every dish needed to be cleaned before use. Plated were caked in some sort of honey substance and sticking to each other. The grill had burned meat all over it.

CABIN WAS CLEAN. THERE ARE A FEW THINGS NEED TO BE ADDRESSED. MATTRESSES' NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE PADS THAT ARE ON THE BEDS ARE NOT CUTTING IT.
THE RED CHAIR/RECLINER IN LIVING ROOM NEEDS TO BE REPLACED.
SOME LIGHT BULBS NEED REPLACING.
WE DIDN'T COOKA NY BUT THE KITCHEN SEEMED TO BE WELL EQUIPPED.
NOT FOND OF THE STREAMING TV. WOULD MUCH PREFER CABLE OR SATELLITE.

We arrived after dark and the driving directions were perfect to get us there.
The morning we were supposed to leave weather caused a delay as the road down wasn't clear so the management company extended our check out and by noon the road was clear enough to drive out.
Amazing views from the deck. Cabin is cute, cozy, and clean.
Only thing to be aware of is that there is another cabin less than 100ft away that isn't really seen in the photos.
Great place and we look forward to returning.

Words cannot describe just how wonderful my experience here was. This cabin has it all: a beautiful scenic view, a cozy interior, and all the comforts and amenities you would expect to find in a luxury cabin rental. The owners could not possibly be more friendly and helpful, answering all my questions and making me feel truly at home. I would highly recommend a stay, and plan to return later this summer! 10/10!

The cabin description was spot-on regarding the location, layout, amenities.
The view in the morning from the porch with our coffee was amazing and only got better in the evening watching the sunset from the hot tub with a glass of wine.
The property was clean well maintained and had great customer service when needed.
The only issue was finding this place at night and not really a fire pit, it’s a Chiminea.
I highly recommend this cabin and will be back.

Having spent time in the blue ridge off and on for years, this was my absolute favorite cabin that I've rented. Everything from the layout, to the decor, to what was in the cabin (all the little touches for convenience) was perfect for our stay. It was exceptionally clean and the view stunning! This is the first vacation we have ever taken that we did not leave the cabin from the time we got there until we left. So relaxing and the view with it snowing was awesome. Only negative there was no grill and most of the food we took we had planned to grill.

This was a long awaited girls weekend opportunity at my favorite “neighborhood” in West Jefferson. It is most definitely worth the drive up the mountain. The cabin is well appointed, Easy to find and has great views.

Mountaintop Getaway!

Overall experience was very good. A couple of suggestions. The directions to the house very confusing. Would be better to have the turn into the development, then first right, and then follow the yellow line in the road all the way up to Pinnacle Point. Directions gave too many twists and turns - try following the yellow line in center of the road.
When we arrived, the lot was really overgrown. The problem was the driveway on the left hand side of the drive drops off and it was hard to see the drop off the first time.
Otherwise, house very clean, comfortable and enjoyable. We would rent again.

We loved staying at this cabin. It's very clean and cozy, and has a lot of amenities - kitchen stuff, electronics, games, etc. - pretty much everything you need. We really enjoyed sitting on the porch, it's very peaceful and has great views. It was also very convenient to get to both Boone and West Jefferson. Would definitely recommend staying here!

Escape from the heat

We had a nice stay at Pinnacle Point. The house is situation high up in Big Tree with cool air, great views, and awesome sunsets. This is a new rental, so a few things are still needed to round it out. The chiminea is a joke and there needs to be a proper fire pit somewhere, especially since there's only a gas fireplace inside (rather than wood-burning). The bed in the master bedroom is extremely loud and squeaky. The door to the screened porch needs work - there are big gaps to let bugs in and the screen was hanging loose so I had to put the piping back in to hold the screen in place. All fairly minor complaints really. The kitchen was well-stocked and the house is nicely decorated and comfortable. It was a nice surprise to make the short walk to the top of the hill for ~360 degree views! I definitely recommend Pinnacle Point, and it'll only be better once the hot tub is in place!
